Emergencies are unexpected, so it makes sense to have a first aid or emergency kit on hand. Because emergencies can range from car accidents to broken down vehicles and more, we’ve included a few extra items that can help where band aids and ointments can’t. You’ll need the following for a quality car first aid kit and emergency bag:

  • A larger container
  • An easy to read first aid manual
  • Different sized adhesive dressings or band aids
  • Compress dressings to help control bleeding
  • Sterile tubes of saline solution (at least 10mL) to wash wounds
  • Antibiotic ointment
  • 2 packets of aspirin
  • A space blanket
  • Antiseptic wipes
  • Spare batteries
  • Burn gel
  • Tweezers
  • Cotton Swabs
  • Digital Thermometer
  • Disposable gloves, preferably of non-latex material and in medium and large sizes
  • Scissors
  • Motion sickness medication
  • Anti-diarrheal tablets
  • Sterile eyewash solution to flush out dust, insects, sand, or other debris
  • A reflective triangle to warn other vehicles that your car is stopped
